What is Qualification?

To purchase and use the MBTI®, Strong Interest Inventory®, FIRO-B®, or CPI 260® instruments you first must become Qualified. What is Certification?

Certification only applies to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®). Certification is an optional accreditation program that offers a higher designation for MBTI® Qualified Practitioners. Certified Practitioners are held to higher standards and can ensure to clients that they have current knowledge through continuing education, and that they have demonstrated skill in the interpretation of the instrument.

The MBTI® Certification Program is making improvements to better serve those individuals who are committed to advancing their expertise with the indicator. Changes to the program – including a revised name for the credential – are planned to be completed in January, 2009. To request notification when the new program is ready and applications are available, please send your contact information to the Program Administrator.

For more information, please visit www.mbticertification.org or contact the certification administrator at 866-526-6284.

Other Ways To Become Qualified

CPP provides a unique opportunity to gain the necessary background in test administration and interpretation by accrediting a number of organizations to provide training in specific instruments. This training applies to the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Strong Interest Inventory™, FIRO-B®, and CPI 260® assessment tools. Successful completion of one of these test-specific programs qualifies one to purchase materials upon which the training is based. Qualification training is also available internationally through many of these organizations and through the CPP network of distributors.
