Leadership Perspectives from Sharon Richmond

Sharon Richmond is an executive coach who helps develop great leaders. Her value as a coach and consultant comes from her keen focus on each client's business outcomes. Leadership success is measured using objective metrics. Leadership is more than being an individual contributor: leaders need to inspire, lead by example, get others to take the necessary steps for team success. Yet individual leaders can control only their own behavior and beliefs. As a leader, what might they consider doing or saying (or not doing or saying!) in order to further their main objectives of Setting Direction, Engaging People to Follow, and Enabling Execution/Accomplishment? AIM Investment Services enhanced communication and helped facilitate disaster preparedness with a leadership development and team building program created by CPP, Inc. The program took place one month before the first of four hurricanes during the 2004 Atlantic hurricane season, and created a foundation for use in the event their headquarters was unable to operate. Read more about how the organization's use of the CPI 260®, FIRO-B®, and MBTI® Step II instruments led to improved communication, greater self and group awareness, and strengthened leadership. Modal Types for Emergency First Responders

With the onset of hurricane season, we thought you might be interested in modal types for emergency first responders:

  • Police Patrol Officers: ESTJ
  • Emergency Management Specialists: ISTJ
  • Firefighters: ISTJ, ISTP, and ESTP (having three modal types is rare and is known as being tri-modal)

The mode is a mathematical concept that means "the number or range of numbers in a set that occurs the most frequently." The "modal type" is the type that appears most frequently on a type table.

This data was generated by CPP Research based on MBTI(r) assessment results on SkillsOne.com.
